Recently traded for a "built " AR15 with Anderson lower [AM-15] and unknown [to me] upper with heavy stainless 1:8 Wylde chamber and FDE MOE furniture. Looks and feels nice, just not yet had an opportunity to fire it. Took it to my LGS Mgr for his thoughts since he has built several from scratch. His examination and comments were all positive, except for concern on the A2 front sight gas block because he could not find any pins that staked it in place on the barrel. He concluded that it might be loctited or pressed onto the barrel and that might not be good. I am not able to backtrack thru the previous owners to find how they did it. I cannot find any markings on the A2 except "<B>", as I was going to contact the manufacturer and see how they say it should be correctly attached. I would appreciate you AR15 gurus giving me your thoughts on this setup and if you think all is well or someone put one over on me. Thanks, guys.

Well.  I thought I knew how to post pix.  Let me re-read the rules.

Many are not pinned but are attached via set screws on the bottom of the gas block.
I am not aware of any pressed on gas blocks.
I am only aware of pinned, set screw and those that tighten with clamp mechanism.

Take another look, do you see anything?

It's pinned on the rear segment.
Do you see any other screws underneath?

I do not recognize the forge marks or that particular mounting method. Makes me wonder about the source of the sight.

Edited:  I found a BCM like that but not with the same forge marks.

It appears to be an non drilled/non reamed sight that was intended to be drilled and reamed, but has not been.
Similar to this.

there might be a grub screw under the sling mount

I do not see any set screws underneath.  Could it be sitting within a "dimple" in the barrel ?  The rear segment has the sling attachment pin.  Is that where you say it is also pinned ?  Thanks for your comments.

A dimple in the barrel will only act as a position point for a set screw to slightly seat in.  A good positioner to keep a gas block from rotating.
But not what you have here.
You need to find a gunsmith who will drill and pin this for you.  About $75.

Fortunately, I do have such a person.  Shame it was not done correctly to begin with for persons like me who are not tech savvy enough to notice before acquiring.   Such is life.  Thanks for your assistance.  I appreciate it.

Send it to ADCO machine for drilling/pinning.

You are most welcome!
