Wanted to share the muzzle setup up if anyone else was looking at their stuff. Be adviced that the machining isn't school girl pretty, so if thats your MO then this setup isn't for you. I use the rifle a lot and don't baby it, anything that starts pretty does not stay that way for long so for my standards, it's great.
Got their zero recoil brake. The shroud works as it should, pushing the noise and concussion forward. The brake itself uses a common thread pattern which can accommodate a suppressor if you have your stamp. Don't remember the thread pattern off the top of my head but view that as another perk. For what it's worth, I would buy again. Hopefully the pictures aren't to small. It's such a pain finding a host to upload photos.

Already on-board with these.
I purchased several, but discovered that the threads for the shroud are often wonky. Bought a tap on eBary for about $20 (you need a 45mm tap wrench for these) and now they are perfect. I never put shrouds on my muzzle devices until I let a friend shoot my rifle while I was seated close to him, spotting the target with glass as he shot. It was in 308 caliber, and I could feel the concussed air on my face. These shrouds do nothing for the actual shooter; they are only for people near you. That is why I use them at an public range (and leave them off otherwise). |

How are you guys keeping the shroud tight? Mine keeps on loosening against the flash suppressor after 20 rounds or so. Kini-tech flash shroud combo but I only use the hider as the shroud loosens. Might contact Kineti-tech to let them know your having this issue. I haven't had any issue with mine staying tight but I have the brake and not the flash suppressor. They found that on the original Vortex flash hiders they would loosen up, so they slightly spiraled the prongs so the they would tighten rather loosen when fired. Speculation, but might have something to do with it... |

Before I could not only hear it the concussion through my EP but literally feel it. Now shooting with the shroud, the gun acts like any other rifle I own with a standard crown muzzle. Louder then a 12guage with bird shot but no louder then my .270. Twist the shroud off and Im back to minimal recoil but a muzzle blast that feels like I am standing next to an explosive. The paper test verified this. Piece of paper next to the muzzle without the shroud, fire a round and that paper is shredded. With the shroud, the paper is fine and left intact. Pew Pew.... |
