So i got an omega and i'm trying to put on the muzzle brake, I cannot for the life of me figure out how the timing works with this barrel though

I've properly timed/aligned probably a dozen muzzle devices, can't remember having this much trouble before.

i've put on different shims, different ones, different quantities, cant seem to get it close enough (by hand strength) to make me feel like i can cinch it down and align.

any tips?  i'm close to breaking down and going to local gun shop and letting them do it before i cock something up.

Yeah timing with shims can sometime be a real pain in the ass. Take a break from it for awhile and back to it later.

Are you using a new crush washer?  A new one usually has enough crush to get the timing right.

It is not advised to use a crush washer for suppressor muzzle devices as they often do not crush evenly and can lead to off-axis issues.

The shim kits I've used from SIlencerCo (included with the brake) have had enough medium and thin shims to properly clock the muzzle device.
