Ordered a Faxon 18" gunner, Strike industries gas tube, Nitride Gas block and M4 flat top upper from Right to Bear. Decided to try the AR Stoner M-Lok FF rail from Midway.  Also picked up a couple of the V2 Nitride BCG's from Tom's Tactical to put this upper together thinking I'd just put the upper in place of one of my others to try out.  When I opened one of my safes, rummaging around through it I found a competed lower with no upper that I'd forgot about.  Still undecided about which flash hider to use.  I prefer something slim like the Vood0o Manimal but wouldn't mind trying something else if anyone has any ideas if there are other slim flash hiders out there.

First world problems? I can't imagine having so many that I forgot about one. The only rifle I have that hasn't been fired in the last year is the weatherby 270 I won in a raffle that's waiting for my kid to be old enough to shoot.

As far as the flash hider, the open ended slot style devices (I think some people call them duckbill?) common on a lot of European guns are about the thinnest I've seen, other than the long and skinny birdcage of the M14.

Yeah, well I had built this particular lower for a complete upper that I had, then decided to build a matching lower for that same upper later on and set the now orphaned lower in the safe.

Got a link or reference to the flash hider you are referring to?

Just received my Midway  AR Stoner 15" M-lok hand guard as well as my order from Right to Bear (man are they on the ball!!).  Attaching a couple photos of the M4 upper (from Right to Bear) and hand guard (from Midway), and one that shows the Faxon Gunner 18" barrel (also from Right to Bear).  Think I definetly made the right choice on hand guard length, I think it looks great.  Decided to do with the Voodoo Manimal Flash hider which I just order over the weekend.

Hand guard mount appears that it will be solid, there are two tangs that extend back on the upper for alignment.  As it is out of the package, it appears to me that the guard it just a schosh to the left from view above as far as the rails being perfectly centered, will shave just a 'schosh' off the inside of that left tang.  Have to really sight down the rail to see it isn't 100% true, it's so close that a clamped on carry handle would probably line it up without the need to shave it, but I don't want to stress that tang.

Barrel nut that comes with the AR stoner FF hand guard. Takes an 1 3/8" wrench, comes with three shims (needed two for alignment)

Sitting on an Anderson lower with Ruger Pistol Grip and Spikes buffer tube assembly, standard milspec trigger. PSA Premium BCG sitting in the upper at the moment (stolen from another rifle until my TT BCG gets here)

Gas tube and gas block were ordered from Right to Bear.  I knew the tube came with a Roll pin, but the gas block didn't indicate it came with one, but it did.
