Hey yall! Working on doing a build for my fiance. Gonna be a pretty basic build but wanted to add a little color to it for her.  I want to get color on the handguard, stock, and grip.  Have a guy that works with me that does powder coating on the side. Has anyone ever tried this out?

I've not heard of anyone powder coating firearm parts, but lots of folks do Cerakote or hydrodipping/hydrographics

It depends on the plastic.

It is typically reserved for metal, but some plastics can be powder coated.

The heat to fuse the powder coat will possibly melt those parts, ask what temp he is using and test a spare part.

Powdercoat can be 10mil + in thickness vs spraypaint/ceracoat 1-2 mil max.  If plastic survives the baking, you'll most likely have some possible fitment issues depending on the piece or possibly altering dimensions for accessory attachment points for QD holes, etc

Didn't realize powdercoat was that thick. May just end up having someone hydrodip or spray paint it myself. Thanks for the help everyone.
