I wanted to know if anyone had experience ordering parts kits from them.
I've been wanting to order this kit for several months I have email alerts set up that never go off, but reviews show people bought the same kit in that time frame. Nearly all of their kits are always "sold out". I'm just curious if I'm missing something in regards to ordering from them. |

I've never purchased an entire kit like that from them.
If it had the Spike's Tactical Lower Parts Kit instead of the PSA MOE Lower Build Kit, then I'd recommend not to get it. At least not until Spike's does something about the grip in theirs. But what I have gotten from them was shipped promptly and met my expectations. Haven't had to deal with customer service either. But I hear that theirs does a pretty good job. |

So say they get restocked at 2pm but they sell out by 6pm, no email notification that it's back in stock. But if they don't sell out past a certain time, say midnight, then you get the notification. It's not an immediate ping like just about everyone else |

One word to describe PSA's product stocking system is UNPREDICTABLE. They change configurations of parts ie. barrels, rails, parts kits, you name it sometimes with no rhyme or reason. That particular barrel with that particular rail may never be sold together by them again and the OOS listing will be deleted sometime in the future. Or. it could come back in stock tomorrow. Almost no way to tell without a crystal ball.
Not a bash on them but it is just the way they do business. I have been ordering from them for years and check out inventory typically several times a week. If it were me I would not hold my breath waiting for any particular kit or upper to come back in stock because it might never happen but ya never know. |

All I'll say is I placed a very small item order last week Thursday and I got a tracking number within an hour. Today that tracking number still shows only "Pre-shippment info sent to USPS." In other words after a week my order isn't even in the post office yet. Edit: Got my order yesterday. Ordered July 2nd, got it July 16th. Pretty sad for a "in stock" part. ![]() |

Are the reviews proving they were bought in that time frame, or only bought earlier, tested hard like any good reviewer should do before reviewing, and then reviewed a few months later? It may also be a review that was sent in earlier, but only Ok'd (or even seen) much later, and OK'd to put up on the website. I doubt that their review system allows reviewers to instantaneously post anything they want to type. |

I've ordered stuff from PSA on several occasions and never had any trouble. I never ordered a complete kit, but I have ordered a few complete uppers from them, stocks, bolt carrier groups, etc. Pretty much everything that would be in a kit, just not all at once. I never noticed them being exceptionally slow... typically a week or so maybe. Pretty ordinary delivery time for a lot of online parts vendors.

I've been so annoyed with PSA so many times that I don't think twice about out of stock items anymore.
Their slow shipping and poor notifications drove my loyalty elsewhere. There isn't anything wrong with PSA, as long as it's in stock, and you don't mind waiting a week before it ships. |

And in my location UPS is the worst! |

One of the "reviews" was just saying he bought it last friday and it shipped a day or two later. It also said "checked in the wee hours of the morning" or something to that effect.
I'm not on a time table (other than before the election) so speed isn't a huge deal. I'm just looking for a full kit sans lower since I have an 80%. I just don't have friends with tools, or even the space of my own for a vice, money to buy the tools. I'm pushing my luck just getting the OK to buy the kit. I'll keep hoping they get it in stock. |

I ordered a 308 rifle kit that was on special during Memorial Day weekend, had it by the end of the week. Now the lower is/was another matte. I got tired of waiting so I bought one from gun broker last week. I didn't cancel my email alert so I am curious how long it will take for my alert. The other thing is they send out email ads like twice a day so I would just click on it then browse in my case the AR-10 parts.
The customer service was good, I emailed a question which was answered by the next day. I then had a followup question so I called and spoke with the person who sent me the email. So far I rate them as very good. |

This year I have bought three lower build kits, two NATO bolts, a premium 16" M4 upper, premium 20" mM6A4 kit and am 100% satisfied, all on sale online from email flyers. You have to be fast, the M16A4 kit was sold out in less than an hour. The only issue I had was one of the lower build kits was supposed to have the premium polished and nickle plated trigger/hammer but instead had the standard hammer/trigger. I contacted PSA and they two day express shipped the correct hammer/trigger and told me to keep the standard hammer/trigger. Which ended up going into the third lower build kit w/o hammer/trigger. With everybody in California buying up every stripped lower they can get their hands on it is no wonder PSA is selling kits and uppers as fast as they can put them together!

That's funny you mention that. There is a local riflegear store in TX but the original is in CA. At one point the TX store didn't have any Aero lowers but the CA store had 140. I ordered one 2-3 days later that they transferred from CA the day before Brown signed all that nonsense. That day the rest all got sold out in CA. |

If you do though, you may want to look up in the sky and see a pig with wings. |

I purchased a PSA stripped lower days after the Orlando incident, and it took about 2 weeks to reach my FFL. About a weeks worth of order processing time, then another week of shipping(I didn't care to pay for expedited shipping as I'm just starting to put together my first AR. I just ordered a Mil-Spec buffer tube kit from them on July 10th, and then ordered a Magpul MOE stock from RTB this evening. I expect the stock will be at my front door before the kit.
I'm not certain if all orders take this long with PSA, just my experience with them so far. |

I was at the Fountain Valley, Rifle Gear around noon the day Jerry Brown pounded more nails into the coffin lid of the 2nd Amendment! The place was packed and it literally took me 3 hours to pick up two Anderson lowers I had bought a couple weeks before. As I stood sat there waiting for my number to be called '87' and the counter was at '25' all the stripped lowers sold out followed my assembled lowers. Cheers, W-W |

As said, waiting for email notices won't work.
Most of the internet buyers check repeatedly during the day on their cell phones to get those deals. Two - three times a day is too late. Cells have upped the ante on purchasing and being tied to email is not going to work when everyone else is buying stuff on their break at work. You can either break up the order for all those parts, or dedicate more effort to getting the kit by checking repeatedly. As posters noted - they bought either at 2AM or simply got in under the wire before email would even trigger. Checking frequently won't last three months as others have obviously snagged the deals ahead of you. There's also the alternative of shopping around and finding other deals which might be out there for a few dollars more. PSA has low prices but when it comes to buying parts for a project in this political climate it's like buying stock - if IBM isnt a good deal another blue chip can substitute. You build with what you can get or simply wait longer. Building my AR's I bought one major sub assembly a month from what was available, the criteria being decent quality, milspec if it applied, and again, in stock. Having the gun running beats waiting months for things to come together. It really makes little difference if it's a BCG from one vendor or another as long as it's milspec etc, and even less difference when the price is $5 higher because the other ones sold out a day before you planned to buy. In some cases they had free shipping at checkout and it turned out ok. Check with the vendors in the ad bar above - many are also listed here: http://arpartsfinder.com/ what you will discover is the highly popular sites get sold out first - they have more guys checking on their cell phones hourly. But the smaller vendors scattered around the country do well. I wound up buying a lot of parts from vendors less than 150 miles from my home in flyover country because the urban shoppers aren't even aware of them. |

Palmetto State Armory is good to go... HOWEVER If you do some research, you will see that they are SLOW... REAL SLOW
If you want your parts immediately, buy local. I agree here. I am new to the AR15 world, just finished building my first AR and I am not sure I will ever order from PSA again. On July 3rd, I ordered a BCG/Charging handle combo (daily deal) and it sat in processing for over a week. I called CS and she was clueless on what to do and just said, do you want your money back? I told her no, lets see what happens I emailed SEVERAL times to support and info@ and it takes them 3-4 days just to reply to emails. In today's world and with all the other vendors out there, that is just plain unacceptable. The order finally shipped a few days later and arrived yesterday. As some of the other people have mentioned, if you are not in a rush, then order from them. I was more frustrated about the lack of Customer Service than the time it took to ship. There were several times, earlier this week where I was trying to call them (on the main number listed on the website) and a recording said that I had reached an invalid extension!!! what?? |

The shipping times on my orders have been hit and miss, but after a little research I expected that going in. Bottom line, they had what I wanted at a price I was willing to pay.
When I was younger, mail orders took 6-8 weeks. Compared to that, 15 days or so doesn't sound like much. |

I've ordered a few Blem lowers from them, always shipped next day. Ordered ammo from them, took over a week to ship. For me, lowers have always shipped in 1-2 days. Recently it's taken over a week for uppers and other parts to ship (but that won't keep me from ordering in the future). Tomac |

not to worry. I don't think you'll ever see a Spike's product being sold by PSA.
