looking to build a SBR that will be suppressed.  Any ideas on a good barrel length and manufacturer?  Looking at 10.5 or a 12.5 in 556

Look in to the suppressor you want first.  I think some of them have restrictions on the warranty on how short the barrel can be.

As far as barrel length goes, I landed on 11.5" after reading here.  I went with Ballistic Advantage.  I believe Faxon has a short barrel that is designed for suppressor use, though.

I don't have a suppressor, so I went with BA.  I would not hesitate to buy a Faxon barrel.

Rugged Surge - 7"
SilencerCo Saker - 7"
SilencerCo Omega - 10"
AAC M4-2000 - 10"

And the list goes on. Most other manufacturers vary between 10" and 12"

For the barrel I'd be looking into features rather than brand. Melonite, Chrome-lined, etc.

Any cheap manufacturer can tell you anything they want.

I like companies with strong customer support and good reviews.

Dead Air has no restrictions on barrel lengths for the Sandman and a lifetime warranty.
