[ARCHIVED THREAD] - UBR weight without storage

Hey all,
Really love the idea of the UBR but am concerned about weight. I know the gen 2 is coming and I'm trying to get an idea of the weight without the storage doors. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the gen 1 weighs without the storage compartment doors. Thanks for any help.

I'd imagine it would be only a few oz (I.E. less than 3) lighter at the most.

Taking the doors off the UBR doesn't do anything significant weight-wise.

I have mine on a 10.5 SBR, without the doors. Probably heavier than most stocks. The space where the doors are has little room to store anything, it also looks a lot better without them and a lot easier to extend than with them on. IMHO

Here's mine on an 10.5 pulling the doors off won't make a difference it's a heavy stock but it's also a super solid stock no wiggle whatsoever and it oozes quality. With the heavy profile barrel and DD ris II it feels really well banced

If you're concerned about weight, dont get a UBR. The screws holding the doors on are heavier than the doors themselves, maybe an ounce? Either way it is insignificant compared to the heft of the UBR.

Thanks all for the responses. I think I'll try out a gen 2 when they come out on my mid weight barreled SPR build. Currently having to put half my face on the receiver extension for proper fit and I'm betting on the ubr to solve this and maybe offer better balance.
