I'm getting an Adams Arms piston upper and the handguard might be about 3/8" to long to mount my suppressor.  If it is can I use my Dewalt Abrasive Chop Saw and cut some off or will it screw it up? I plan on having it Cerakoted anyways, so there will be no exposed metal when I'm done.

If you can secure it to keep the chatter down, I see no problem with giving it a try.

You shouldn't cut aluminum with abrasive, as aluminum will plug it up and ruin the cut off wheel real quick. Should use a hack saw and clean it up with a file.

I've used a 12" blade miter saw with a titanium coated blade to cut through Al. Hack saw will not cut straight in my experience.

Second vote in favor of the big metal cutting blade. Although mine isn't fancy TiN coated. It's just a steel blade with tons of small carbide tipped teeth, something like 10-12 per inch or so. I bought it at the local hardware store pretty cheap, too. The price of the blade is well worth the time saved cleaning up a hacksaw job.
