| I really like the SAI/BRO billet design. SAI doesn't sell their matched sets anymore and I don't care for the BRO logo. Are these the only two companies that stamp their name on that design? What are the thoughts on the Colt oem barebones package? Seems like a nice shortcut. Just add furniture, swap trigger and you're done. |

I'm not sure if you have looked at Mega Billet Upper/Lower Receiver Sets. Not identical to those, so forgive me if you are wanting 100% identical. But they share a lot of the same aesthetics as the BRO does from what I am looking at. Trigger guard looks to be of almost the same shape/construction. Just throwing that out there (it's what I picked after looking at several billet sets - including BRO).

SMOS also makes the billet receiver sets for Noveske Yes sir. As well as the NSR rails. They've been "behind the scenes" for a while. Though I'm not sure if there is still a working relationship. |

What's the deal with some of these uppers not having a forward assist. I've never seen that before. Slick sides have been around since the beginning of the AR platform way back in the 50's, the originals were not designed for a FA. I have both and while in the service I carried a 16 with a FA, I only used it a few times, especially in sandy environments, in civilian life, I don't really find it to be needed other than to play with while sitting on a deer stand. In fact getting ready to build another slick side, when my upper gets here on Friday. |
