Hi everyone, I am looking to potentially change out my BCM Mod 0 compensator for a different muzzle device and am looking for some suggestions. I have a BCM 16" C8 SFW upper receiver group with a bcm bolt carrier right now.
I am thinking about going the muzzle brake route, but am open to any suggestions at all. The main thing I want to accomplish is keeping on target a little better for faster followup shots. I watched the videos linked below, and liked the results he got, but wanted to see if anyone has any personal experience with any of these (or anything different). http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/11/jeremy-s/556-muzzle-device-shootout/ http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/04/jeremy-s/ar-15-muzzle-brake-shootout-2/ Thanks! |

Sounds like you're looking for an SLR BCF. Brake/comp/flash hider. That'll pretty much cover it. |

I went from the BCM Mod 0 on my 16" middys to the Precision Armament AFAB. Glad I did, IMHO the AFAB is the best hybrid muzzle device currently available w/50% reduction in felt recoil and little more flash/concussion than an A2: http://precisionarmament.com/product/afab-flash-hider-compensator/

You mention keeping on target, so you might want to look for something that is a brake and a compensator. If I remember those tests (and am re-reading them right), they only look at recoil reduction and don't touch muzzle rise, at least not in the numbers.
I've only had experience with some basic muzzle devices, the "strongest" of which is the Damage Industries muzzle brake. It isn't fancy and is basically a scaled down version of what they did for the M468. Very inexpensive, especially when they do their 50% off sales, but it is not fancy by any means. ETA: It looks like they do specify which muzzle devices are combination ones in the test, but still only quantify recoil reduction. |
