About to embark on the journey on of building my first rifle. My thought is that buying a lower parts kit would be the easiest and best way to learn. Anybody have any ideas on if this is the best route and can recommend some brand of lower parts kits? I have an aluminum 80% lower that is calling my name saying "I need parts!"
Thanks in advance. |

I just picked up a complete lower parts kit with everything to build a lower including pistol grip for $65 with free shipping off ebay, it is nothing fancy, but it is fully functional. The kit is from Anderson. I ordered a couple Anderson kits w/o grip and trigger parts. I am going to run them with drop-in triggers to try to avoid egg shaping the FCG pin holes in poly lowers and I am going with grips with the extension on the back to try to give a little more support to the buffer tube mounting area. Anderson had their LPK w/o grip, trigger, hammer and pins for $25 on their web site the other day. They were the only LPKs they had in stock at the time I ordered, but I don't know about right now. |
