Looking to get a new buffer tube for my M&P 15 fixed stock. Looking to put an adjustable Magpul stock. Primary Arms has a Anderson Manufacturing and Daniel Defense 6 position carbine tube both 7075-T6. Only difference is price, which one is the better of the two?

For the carbine buffer tube I would go with the 7075 T-6 .

Go with the DD

Get the same mil-spec 7076 buffer tube from Strike Industries for less.

I had not seen the Strike Industries tube, the idea of one longer position is appealing. Cool.

OP, just make sure you get the right diameter tube, mil spec or commercial, and that you get the right magpul stock I.D. also.

I've been using Brownells 7075T6 tubes for $21.70 recently.

Yea, I had asked about this in another thread. I usually use the Brownells tubes but for some reason couldn't find them on the their website this time. I have had good luck with them, used over half a dozen now with no issues. I ordered 3 myself this time!

I notice the Strike Industries 7 position buffer tube is mfr'd from 6061 aluminum. I've noticed several tube makers use 6061, like the DSA tubes. What are the pros and cons between 6061 and 7075-T6?

7075 T6 with proper threading etc...is Milspec standard.

IIRC it's about 40% stronger.  I much prefer a 7075 T6 tube.

Good info. I just used a 7075-T6 Battle Arms extension on a build. Very nice tube.
