We just took the 300BLK I built and shot it. Big fun. No problems that I could detect but I did notice something about the spent casings.

They are flattened a little bit on one side. Is that an indicator of anything I should be concerned about? Thanks!

They're getting whacked by the case deflector on their way out from the ejection port.  You may see small brass deposits there.  Nothing to worry about, pain in the rear if you reload, I imagine.  Not much you can do, other than turn down the gas, run a heavier buffer, or put a little rubber padding on the case deflector.

Not an issued. Resizing die will take care of it.

Put a 7/8" square of self stick VELCRO on the deflector and that will all disappear.

Yep that'll work.  Or you can fix 12 regular uppers for $3.75.
