Any tricks/tips to properly torque your FH on a short barrel? I made a barrel vise block out of wood that I've used a bunch on 16in barrels, but it's too big for this barrel. I can't decide if I need to strip the gas block off the barrel and make a smaller vise block or what. I'd rather not though because, lazy.
what do you guys do? |

Not sure why you can't cut a few inches off the current block of if needed. Even then, it should still work on a 16 inch barrel.
My smallest vice block is 4 inches tops and if secured it works on any barrel size. If the vice is too big just place the block and barrel in at an angle and secure. It really doesn't take much to secure the muzzle brake and on certain guns I have not done much more than wrench and a strong pimp hand. |

yeah, pimp hand is where I sit now. I just don't want to dick up the threads on the barrel if the thing rattles loose or something
EDIT: so the question I need to answer really is do I not want to risk damage MORE than I don't want to strip everything down and do it "right"?... |
