Updated Update: Ive got the stock, and the MI 12" Keymod rail is waiting at home. Im looking at Green Mountain Rifle Barrels, but they have several different AR15 barrels, all with slight differences. I am going to be shooting mostly just m855 ammo, or the 55grain stuff. Looking to go with 16", but with twist rates, and some say "replacement barrel" which one do I go with? Not looking to do fluted or anything fancy.

So far, what I'm working with is a Spikes Jack upper/lower. Looking to go with a quad rail and throw on some LMT sights on there with the front being their model as well.

My question is- how much of a percentage of my money should my rail REALLY be taking.. Looking at ordering the 12.5" quad from AT3 but haven't heard much chatter about these guys. Any info would help, or a lead on some decently priced quads in the 12" range. DD and BCM are darn expensive.

Really depends on your budget.  I have the BCM KMR and it's a real nice piece. I also have a Giessele, which is very nice as well, but even more pricey. Have you checked out the ALG rails?

Not really a fan of the look of those ALG. I'm trying to keep it around $100. Worst case scenario, I throw a few extra bucks to get what I'm looking for. I'm just trying to see if I have overlooked any other manufacturers.

cheap rifle - cheap parts

expensive rifle - expensive parts

I've built both ways, it all comes into what you want out of the rifle.  Beater/range blaster/truck gun vs precision gun/SHTF rifle/high dollar toy

Sounds like you're building on a budget or going for a cheaper rifle. Look at UTG Pro's lineup.  They're surprisingly not crap despite their parent company's reputation.

I guess I should have stated that earlier. Ive got my high $ toys, my beaters, my long range tack drivers. I have a truck gun/SHTF opening though which is what I'm going for. I wouldn't call it CHEAP, but more budget. I'd rather put the money where durability and reliability come in to play. (moving parts)

Thought of another company, Midwest Industries.  But seriously take a look a the UTG pro offerings.  IIRC they're around $150ish.

CHEAP is a synonym of the word BUDGET , the difference in the nuance is up to you to determine.

True, and thanks for the info I'll look in to those guys. I'll get some pics up once I get to my computer, or order a rail, or both.

Here's one reasonably priced. I've never used one so can't comment on it other than I've seen these recommended for good budget rails

I'm now looking at the Midwest Industries KeyMod 12" FF here after searching around, I realized I'm going to have to spend more than what I originally intended, but I'd rather get a quality product.
