Hey guys. So while I was assembling a lower blue loctite from the buffer tube got into the buffer detent hole and now the detent is stuck in there. I tried heating it with a butane torch but that didn't work. I tried spraying carb cleaner and that didn't break it free.

Any suggestions?

OK, I will boil some water and put the ass end of the lower in it. How long does it take?

Loctite on your receiver extension is not required.

Internet points deducted.

I've always done it. Especially after I had it come loose during a class.

I have put together my share as well and have never done it nor had issue.

Edit - Snap On(set I own) and I am sure others make a pick set with a slightly curved pick that twists and should remove it swiftly. I have used it for pulling springs in weapons.

Well I have and that's why I do it.

So back to the issue. I'm boiling the ass end now. Hopefully this loosens it

Might require some persuasion along with the heat. If you have vise grips, or even regular gripping plyers that could provide some wiggle-jiggle without prying on the receiver.

OK I got it. I let it boil for a while and then got a pair of my nice needle nose on it. It finally popped free. Thanks for all the help.

Put the tip of a soldering gun or wood burning kit against the buffer retainer.  Leave it there long enough to soften the threadlock.  Pull out with a roach clip  hemostat.

When you put it back together stake the nut. Loctite is the wrong way to do it.
