[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Clamshell vise block insert necessary?

I've got a set of clamshell vise blocks. There was no picture provided and they showed up withough an insert. Is one needed when using them?

Yes, you should get an insert. I don't know where to buy them separately though.

Measure your BCG and go buy a cheap dowel rod the same size.

I believe its 1" diameter. I've used the appropriate sized sockets before .... insert, they work perfect.

Do this, you just need a filler for the inside of the receiver.
