Please suggest an automatic center punch. It will be used mainly for Ar assembly. It could possible see some limited heavier use. I see these things all over the board price wise.I want to spend enough to get it right the first.  However I don't want to overspend.
Thanks

The Harbor Freight ones work well enough and they're under $10.

HF is OK but Starrett is probably the best out there.

Starett or good name brand one. I have several. Turn out gear coat, trauma bag, tool, box, AR box, etc. Also look at the rescue me key chain. Seat belt cutter and window punch in a handy package, I know not AR related but good gear to have.

I've assembled many ARs and I've never needed or used one.  are you planning on using it for staking? (I find a small Stanley Nail Set to work best)

Get your feet wet with the Harbor Freight automatic center punch.  It's $3 for crying out loud; worth buying just to see if you like it.  I like mine just fine, by the way.

For general use and especially for AR use, Starrett's 818 automatic center punch is a great buy.  It lists for $36 from Starrett, and you can find it for a bit less elsewhere.  It's what I will get when my HF punch decides it's time to retire.
