Total parts cost is about $920.

Any played around with gunstruction a little and came up with this as a near approximation of what I am building.

The major difference from that picture is Greenblob Flip up sights, and Magpul MOE-SL hand guard.

Edit:  This being my first post, anyone konw why my images aren't showing up?  They have the  tags on them but they only show as links.

All the parts arrived today, and got the lower receiver picked up from the gun shop.  3 hour wait, because some schmuck with my name is being a bad person apparently.

So the build starts.

First thing,  setscrew for the takedown pin detent spring mod.

The main assembly begins tomarrow.

Yes, piston on my first build.  Figure if I don't like it I can always go back to DI.

Cheaperthandirt.com has a great deal on them right now.

It starts with,

2.5 hours later....

Had it checked out at Curts Discount Shooter Supply in Milwaukie Oregon.  Great guys nothing wrong with the build, headspacing appears fine.

Hopefully going to get a chance to try it out on Sunday,  if not it will have to wait until next weekend.

I forgot to take some video! sorry, i will get some next time!

The muzzle blast to the sides was significant!

We were having too much fun blowing away innocent pop cans and milk jugs full of water!

First shot was right on but a little low.  So need to adjust the sights, and I forgot to order a sight tool :(

Firing a little low at 40 feet but not bad.

We had a few failures to feed, I think the piston system might be short stroking.  I used a heavy buffer to reduce felt recoil, thinking that might be an issue I had ordered a standard buffer also but it didn't help.  Will have to do some research on that before we go shooting again.

But much fun was had!
