 I'm aiming for a mini RECCE build with this one. How does this list of parts sound?

BCM Mod 3 Pistol Grip DSG Arms and KAK made putting this together very affordable. Anyone else using the ALG Defense QMT? Seemed to be much better than Spike's Battle trigger. I just wanted to make my own version of the Crusader. Lower Total Cost: $335-ish. I know the pins, trigger, mag release button, and bolt catch weren't really needed. But it's good to improve on things slightly. As for the upper so far I have: Aim Melonite Gas Block $20 Spike's Melonited Gas Tube $15 Spike's Complete Upper $105 75 Shipped Matrix Arms Foxtrot Key Mod Handguard - 13.5" $64.95 Voodoo 14.5" 5.56 Mid Length Gov Profile Barrel PINNED with Manimal Flash Hider $189.95 A Spike's Tactical Dust Cover with the symbol for "Infidel" and an American Flag with stripes facing the muzzle. $3 from DSG 
I think this dust cover will fit in nicely with the Crusader lower. $368 on upper w/o bcg/ch Stuff I need to order: BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle $35 (Medium Latch) BCG $90-$120 I'm absolutely torn on Bolt Carrier Groups. I wanted to grab a Spike's to complete the theme of the over all build. But the DSG Nitrided Bolt I'm using in my AR pistol is very nice.. I'm tempted to order another one for only $90 shipped. I'm sure 9310 has proved itself, and Nitriding seems to be the future for coatings over phosphate. Looking at $520-$550 for the upper. Current Amount Spent: $708 Optic will probably be a PA 2.5X Prism Scope with an American Defense Mount. Some questions: Anyone have an experience with the ALG series of Milspec triggers? Has anyone used Rainer Arms to pin a gas block to a melonite/nitrided barrel? Nitried VS Milspec BCG? I'm leaning toward nitride. |

I finally out together a mock up of this build. Also I wanted to note/document that I did have the lower war born into this world as a pistol, prior to setting it up as a rifle. Never hurts to have that documented
Initial build as a pistol- 
So now the mock up. I used a slightly out of spec anderson upper. I'm going to order a spike's/aero with a forward assist/ejection cover. It seriously feels super light weight. Sorry I don't have a scale to weigh it. Funny thing is I didn't intend on making this a light weight build. It's almost a shame I'll be putting a heavy variable scope on it.. 
I did borrow the BCG/Charging handle for the mock up. Just to get an over-all feel for how heavy it would be. |
