| What does .920 gas block length mean? What different sizes are there? I'm looking at a barrel with a .750 gas block with a .920 length. What do I need to know? |

Hi IMO gas blocks come in .625 , .750 , .936 diameters and they probably mean .920 is how long the diameter mounting surface is of the gas block
your gas block can be shorter the the barrel diameter but not a good idea to have the gas block longer then the barrel surface diameter mite not seal very well. |

Low profile GBs are usually about 1.000" in length. It's not a critical dimension....only the diameter is.
Get steel if you can. Some use titanium to save weight, but it's not worth it IMO. Just not aluminum... the expansion coefficient of Al is different from the steel barrel and it might leak. The Al one I tried did and so I learned my lesson. |
