[ARCHIVED THREAD] - New BCG

This might be a stupid question but I don't know the answer. I have a Colt AR-15A2 with an M-4 barrel, I just ordered a new Colt M-16 BCG. Can I just drop the new BCG in and its ready to use or does the headspace or something need to be set?

You should check headspace.
The odds a definitely with you if you don’t.
Of course the odds are you will not drown escaping Syria by boat.
Bolts have tolerances.
You can only check actual headspace with the bolt that will be used in the weapon.
