Ordered a spikes buffer tube kit for my 16 inch mid length build.
"Somehow" failed to notice it comes with a spikes ST-T2 heavy buffer.
It has shipped so its to late to change.

Am I going to have issues with it in a mid length (I'm guessing yes)
Should I just order a different buffer (throw the spikes in the parts box) if so what buffer shall i get?

Thank you...

Try it. If your rifle doesn't like it, knock the pin out of the buffer, remove 1/2 oz powder and try it again. Repeat until you get desired results.

I have had zero issues running that same Spikes ST-T2 buffer kit with a BCM 16" middy upper. It runs silky smooth and ejects 55 and 62 grain .223, xm193, and xm855 5.56 brass at a consistant 3:30 - 4:00.

My 16” middy runs a Tubb’s CS flatwire spring and a H2 buffer with no problems.
All weapons are not the same, but judging from the buttload of posts on this subject the last few years the majority of 16” middy weapons should run with the Spike’s kit.

You should be fine. I've run st-t2 buffers in a couple of middys and no issues at all. Like PFC mentioned, it's been a heavily covered topic and many guys run them in mids. That said, if it doesn't work in yours, buy a STD buffer and sell that one in the EE. STD buffers are cheap and you shouldn't have a problem unloading the st-t2. A lot of people like them.
