A few years back I ran into an M231  Telescoping butt stock.  I like the look and bought it and put it a side until my next build, which was tonight.  I had all the parts got the entire gun together and went to find my stock.  It was right where I put it for safe keeping, however when I got the thing screwed in place looked fine but I could not collapse the thing because the rods on the tube hit the receiver.  Now i could get out the round file and file a couple of grooves in the receiver or try to shave a little more off the wire stock they already have a slight chamfer on them.  Has any one else run into this problem and what did you do?
Thanks RA

Is it a true M231 stock or a DPMS repro?

If you are using it with a standard recoil system it is a repro.

I have one of those.  The dimensions are slightly off.

The easiest fix and one that doesn't require modification of your lower is, as you suggested,

shaving a little more off the beveled portion of the stock.

Doesn't take much, I did it with a dremel years ago.

I'm sure the guys in the RETRO forum might have some more input.
