BCM is my go-to brand.

If you're looking for a "standard" mil-spec barrel, next to getting a Colt, BCM is arguably as close as you can get to a mil issue barrel.

There are cheaper barrels and better barrels (as you are about to find out), but BCM AR parts typically offer a high quality to price ratio.

Can't go wrong with anything Rainier.  AR15performance and Black Hole make quality stuff as well (some of the Rainier barrels are made by Black Hole).

I might suggest an 18" barrel though.  From 16" to 18" you gain about 200fps, but 18 to 20 that goes to like 30fps for factory ammo.  Unless you reload you don't gain much for the extra weight and length.  Just a thought.

Good luck with your search.

GM Rifle Barrel is another good option.

I second this. Complass Lake Engineering makes some great barrels. I have a Douglas SPR barrel from them and love it.
