So I'll be the first to admit that I suck at installing buffer tubes.

I'm having trouble with a particular one which twisted about 20 degrees clockwise at the range today.

This one was staked super well so I'm happy that it's not backing out.  But what is causing the buffer tube to spin?

I want to get a new buffer tube and end plate.  Who makes an end plate that doesn't move?

Thanks y'all!

Do you have any pictures?

Is the end plate installed backwards? There should be a portion that is raised and the flip side should either be recessed slightly or flat. The raised side should be facing the rear of the receiver, it keeps it locked in place.

Shit dude, you're right.  The nub is facing out.  Thanks!

That's your problem.

As far as quality, they are all kind of created equal unless you are looking for a QD fitting one.

Yeah I was under the impression that the end plate I was using didn't go deep enough into the receiver or that the nub was stripped.

Lol, but now I realize that probably any end plate will do as long as I install it right.

I would bet a dollar if you turn the end plate around it will not spin anymore.
