Decided to do a winter build. Took an old cracked A1 stock and glassed a cheek riser on it and tried some digital camo. Pretty cheap build. Got a used carbon fiber free float , classic arms wylde 18" barrel. Black Friday LPK. My guess would be about $500. Now I'm looking for a decent scratched or painted scope so I can  paint it to match. Also looking for a cheap flip up front sight to mount to the gas block. The gas block is slightly lower than the rail. Any suggestions?

P.S. Hard to take pics of white.

Pretty cool project and nice save on the broken stock.

For the sight base, look for a "rail height gas block riser". Here's one as an example YHM Riser

Not crazy about the color but I love the stock.  How much clearance does it have with the charging handle?

Agreed, the stock looks clean and nicely done but not crazy about the photo studio white

personally I would add some grey digi camo in there to break it up....maybe a lighter brown/tan as well

It snowed here a LOT this winter.  Think we had just over 70 days straight with snow on the ground.

Only about 1/6 of an inch clearance under the charging handle. I put a small piece of clear door edge guard on top of the butt stock to keep from scratching the paint. I know , it's a safe queen until it's been to the range a few times.

P.S. Thanks for the help on the front buis. Put a matech on the rear and waiting for a gas block height front sight.

it looks like it's the guard that is out of plane with the receiver.
guard looks to step up at the receiver and then down at the gas block.   (is that just a bad angle?)

LOOKS FANTASTIC, BTW!

I think just a bad angle. I didn't paint the top of the receiver. The receiver is a step up from the gas block.
