Unfortunately, I purchased an R GUNS upper prior to becoming active in this forum. I have since learned anybody that cares about quality or customer service should not purchase from R GUNS but anyway...
I purchased a complete upper that ended up being out of spec and I didn't attempt to put it on a lower until about 9 months after I purchased it (yes, my fault). When I did attempt to put it on a lower I quickly discovered it would not fit any lower, including previously functioning builds. I emailed R GUNS and told them about the situation. Their customer service told me to send it back. I asked for a refund for the order b/c this forum taught me to avoid their products. However, I rx'd an email w/ UPS tracking number yesterday. It appears they just sent out a new upper that I haven't rx'd yet. Any advice on the way forward? Should I keep the upper if it fits or try to send it back again? I am hoping they just didn't re-send the original upper I sent back--which from what i read wouldn't surprise me. It just sucks I am out $600 on this upper that is destined to be a POS from what I have read on this forum. Thanks! |

When you say it won't fit...do you mean that are able to pin the pivot pin, but the upper shelf area doesn't have enough room to allow for the rear tab on the upper receiver?
Edit: if so then I'd suggest dremeling that area slightly (without hitting the rear take down pin) then hitting it with some Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black or similar product. |

Odd. I bought an R Guns complete upper with a 20" Camel Toe barrel a few years back and mated it with a DMPS lower. Everything fit fine and works perfectly. It's my favorite gun.
I've read about the issues some people have had with them but mine is just fine. Now my Rock River Arms lower was quite out of spec. The good thing there is they send a replacement instantly. They do have good customer service, but it's too bad it was needed. |

Ok so people here think they suck. However you bought it and had it for 9 months before calling foul. After nine months, the upper is USED even if you never used it. I would be happy they are even trying to work with you if their cs sucks as bad as it sounds.
If they replace the old with one that works then I would count it as even and be happy you have something usable. I mean, you did order the upper because you wanted it..right? It is what you ordered...right? |
