So I ordered a forward assist from "Phase 5" and it finaley arrived after being two days late (hate USPS) and I noticed that it didn't come with the roll pin (could of sworn it did) so I checked the site and it does state it doesn't come with. I would hate to have to spend $6+ for the pin so i looked here on the site for the right size and i believe this is the correct pin (alot cheaper then the any of the gun sites) http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/details/64057?searchMode=productSearch&filterByVendingMachine= Can anyone else verify this is the correct size pin? Also looking at the upper and the assist how the heck does the pin lock the assist into place? I noticed the assist has a notch on one side and I am guessing the notch would hit the pin keeping it from backing out correct? |

Would this work?

Any hardware, farm supply etc store that has the little trays of various hardware parts should have a suitable roll pin.
3/32 diameter, 5/8 inch long. Put some barrel nut grease on the pin before putting it in, there's a lot of friction in that hole. Also, use caution in that you REALLY do not want to bend that pin and get it stuck partway. |

The FA retaining pin is .625" long and .093" in diameter, same pin as used on the trigger guard. Good luck finding this little pin at a bigbox hardware store.
My favorite source for small AR parts is M&A. The best policy is to buy a small quantity of each of the common roll pins, springs and other easy-to-lose parts, thereby save on shipping and be ready for the next time you need a part. - CW http://mapartsinc.com/shop/?sQuery=roll+pin&sAltCat=All+Categories&search=Go |

The trigger guard pin is a different size. The chart you may have used from Bigger Hammer site has some errors on it. One easy way to look them up is by the part number out of the Gov. TM manuel. Here is the trigger guard pin http://milspecfastenerscorporation.thomasnet-navigator.com/item/roll-spring-pins/spring-pin/ms-16562-129 |

Careful, Doesn't PSA have some BS cancellation policy? They may have changed that since all the complaints about it, I don't know. Quoted:

Right now my order is still listed as processing. I plan on calling them early tomorrow morning and trying to get a hold of them before i go off and buying from somewhere else. They are great to buy from however their shipping is pathetic. (Doesn't help that I am inpatient) You can never get them to reply to E-mails and if yall haven't called them before its a pain as well. Im sure Ill buy from them again when im not in such a hurry. |

It kept people from ordering just to secure the part then cancelling it when they find it cheaper over the weekend. I've always been able to get someone on the phone everytime I called. Call as soon as they are open or within 1/2 hour of that. It's always worked for me at least. |
