First off I'm by no means rich.  However I did learn that if something is too much just save and time will take care of the rest.  With that said I am beginning my long and slow AR build.  My plan for my AR build is to use high quality parts and build what I think is referred to a "race gun".  I have watched a lot of YouTube vids on building AR's and I think I have enough confidence to start my own build.  Any help is much appreciated.

Parts I have purchased:

Seekins Precision SP223 billet lower

Taccom 3mr trigger (yes I know the mixed reviews)

I am currently looking at this BCG and it appears to be on sale.  Did some googling not a ton of information but it appears with the right parts it could allow the gun to cycle faster.  Thoughts??

Ok my opinions. Race gun is for 3 gun matches or something of the sort correct? well, I wouldn't have gotten the tac-con trigger. I would have steered in the direction of a Geissele SD3G or Timney competition, better triggers overall for the route you're taking. Then you could have money on Adj. GB and the JP silent capture spring.

Im mainly building a rifle that will cycle at a faster rate and have low recoil, so if that what a "race gun" is then yes.

JP bolt and carrier is lighter at 8.7 oz. There is lighter than that but they are usually Ti.  I pretty much went down the same rode your headed, and I am going to pretty much end up with a JP Rifle in a set of Spikes Gen 2 billet recievers.

JP is having their 5 days in the black sale. They have some items on sale every day for the 5 days and rotate a 1 day sale for specific items. Yesterday it was their rapid configuration free float tube. Today its their Ez Trigger. I would bet one of the next 3 days has the bolt carrier, and silent capture spring system. They also do free shipping while the sale is going on. If you submitted multiple orders for each days sale I wouldn't be surprised if it showed up all in the same box.

No offense, but I'd pass on the Taccom trigger.

Geissele makes tier 1 triggers and some of their models can be ran quite fast.  Watch some youtube vids of guys with their 3gun triggers.

You wont be disappointed.

What is the purpose of seeking a faster cycle rate? I would think that most AR's cycle faster than a person can pull the trigger anyway.
Are you outrunning normal cycle times with your trigger pull rate?

You're off to a shaky start with that trigger group! There are much better choices for a "fast" trigger. Also, how fast are your split times? Can you shoot faster than an AR can cycle?

No offense intended, but I think a little more reading and planning may be in order before you spend a bunch of money on stuff that isn't going to work out for you. This forum is an excellent resource.

For fast double taps, I like my Hiperfire 24C trigger. Similar to Geissele's SD3G trigger, but better.  I also like my SLR Solo Lite handguard, pricy but very well made and easy to install without the need to index the nut for the gas tube.  - CW
