I am look at 2 3-9 scopes. One is a Trijicon AccuPoint 3-9x40 Rifle Scope - TR20. The other is a Leupold Patrol VX-R 3-9x40 Illuminated Riflescope. Both are illuminated. They will be going on a 16in bcm upper. Just having a hard time deciding. I look are leupold's ar mod 1 and it didn't look very clear or crisp. But any help would be appreciated.

I have no experience with those particular scopes but both are excellent brands. Head over to the optics forum and ask there or request this thread moves (so you aren't asking twice).

IMO, for the price the Patrol glass, reticle, illumination, and power management are excellent.  IMO, every adjustment control is equally 'unexcellent'.  Illumination control is slow and awkward, drop and windage dials are exposed` unlocked and too easily turned, magnification is too stiff without leverage or grip, but the focus is just about right.

No clue about the AccuPoint.
