Good Day All

I am finishing my 2nd lower.. and its raw.. i was thinking of either polishing it or spray canning chrome.

my question is who makes a coating it.. i know i can send it out to get dipped.. now that i am thinking about nickel would look good too...

any way... back to the question who makes a good aftermarket paint

I don't think aluminum can be nickle plated.  I may be mistaken.

As long as it's a snug fit in the raw.... WMD can NiB it.  My brother had one done.

I should say that I personally think the shiny AR thing is played out.  If I was going to do a custom build I'd go with the battele worn finish look that some Ceracoters are doing.

Where did you get the tiger shark lower?  I like the all-over coating, maybe I'll do that on my 2nd AR.

I clean thoroughly, then glass bead, then rattle can with Rustoleum BBQ black. Bake for about 30 minutes, and they come out almost a perfect match to Colt anodized grey.

Till the first strong solvent comes along

Only thing that comes out of a rattle can I would use on a gun  is
AlumaHyde II

Not mine.  It's a Hellbreaker lower that I believe you can get through AIM surplus.  In a thread the guy does several colors of destressed rifles using Cerakote.  I have done a few colored builds.  My brother has done even more and his media of choice is cerakote.  I go with lower buck options.....

Rattle can camo-

AlumahydeII Earth Brown-

AlumahydeII Coyote-

The AlumahydeII has held up pretty well, but it's not as tough as Cerakote.  Much like Cerakote, the trick to AlumahydeII is the prep.

....and not resistant to most solvents.  Cerakote or Norrell's Moly Resin are superior.
