So I am building my first AR and want to know your opinions on wether it is important for the barrel and bolt to be form the same manufacutrer? I have a 16" Voodoo Melonited mid barrel and want some opinions on wether to purchase their bolt or something else? Someone suggested this bolt: http://www.kakindustry.com/kak-industry-bcg-auto-nitride. I realize that a lot of companys don't manufacture their own bolts rather just through their logo on them so please let me know what you guys think!
Thanks TJ |

Even bolts from the same manufacturer do not always headspace correctly with a given barrel.
I would go with one of the better known vendors for a BCG. Whoever those guys are you found they did not use the correct nomenclature or list the correct steel for a bolt. |

I like when a company offers their barrels with a headspaced bolt as a package. I know Noveske does and I believe I've seen a few others as well. Other than this type of deal, buying a BCG that is the same brand as the barrel shouldn't matrer....or so I've been told. I still like the two to match if both components are good quality.
