As I read more and more topics and threads I come up with more and more questions. Any and all suggestions or opinions are welcome and appreciated... Just trying to get my first build right.
I am building a AR SBR/Pistol in 300 BLK, and I just was reading some threads talking about cycling issues or possible cycling issues. My build has a 10.5" barrel with a pistol length gas tube, and I am planning on buying a regular mass BCG, and a silent capture spring from JP for my buffer set up. I already have read that I should get an adjustable gas block since I will be running with and w/o a can so I can fine tune everything. Just wondering if anyone sees anything that could cause a potential issue with cycling? I'm just curious about learning more about BCG mass and cycling in this set up, or if I should get the multiple spring set with the silent capture spring so I can fine tune it some more. Thank you |

I don't think an adjustable gas block will be necessary as the .300 BLK was specifically designed to be fired with and without a suppressor and not need any adjusting on the rifle at all. A 10.5" barrel should be fine as it was designed for shorter barrels as well. Hopefully this will help...

The admiral is correct, however, not all builds are the same. Yours should run fine with standard parts.
An adjustable gas block can't hurt though. My 10.3", pistol gas 300 Blk cycles fine suppressed and unsuppressed with a standard carbine buffer and spring and an M16 BCG, this with everything from 110 gr to 220 gr. bullets, UMC factory to handloads. YMMV |
