I would go with 16" since you won't have to permanently attach a muzzle device...

I got a spikes(FN) optimum profile 14.5" midlength I love.  Me and my buddy pinned and welded it.  Yea it's permanent but it shoots awesome and the whole rifle weighs 6.4lbs with a quad rail and magpul furniture.

Edit I got mine at brownells whe they ran some sort of special.

Go with 16" and keep your weapon serviceable with a screw-on brake.

Go 16".
You won't notice the difference in weight. You also won't be gaining much length as if you had a 14.5" + perm attach muzzle device.

I like my 14.5's!

Me personally, I'd pay the $200 and go shorter.

I most definitely notice the difference.  Probably because of where the weight is located, the forward weight upsets the balance so you feel the weight more.  Different strokes, though.

I picked a 14.5" in 6.8 and like the length.... have a lightweight brake that takes a shroud so it has some versatility even though it's pinned.
