Hey Guys I love looking at every ones builds on here and I am now ready to start my own.

Tonight I went for it and gave her a paint job to get things going!

Parts to be painted:

I had to remove this tab from the MFT grip for it to work with my lower, I just used a hacksaw and sand paper.

A tip for anyone spray painting, boil some water, then take the pot off the stove and put the paint cans in the hot water to warm them up to about 90* the paint goes on very nicely.

I am going to let it dry for a day and I will start putting it together.

When you're done how about a report on the Mag Tactical receiver? I'd like to try one on a light weight 6.8 build but the reviews I've found so far have been mixed.

I've read all the reviews also, so far the machine work is awesome but the factory coating falls off just looking at it so I don't feel bad spray painting the shit out of it. If I have any issues with it I will update you guys first thing.

Edit:
Here you go:

yep its spray paint, the more you use it the better it looks!

Anyway just finished up my barrel:
14.5" DD LW
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5556/14851254654_39be387f72_b.jpg

Blind pin and weld process I used:
Drilled muzzle device and barrel.

https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3870/14850650261_800d3f2f75_b.jpg

Tapped the muzzle device for a set screw:

Installed with set screw ran into the hole drilled into the barrel:

Drilled the set screw down into the muzzle device:

Welded up, filed down and more spray paint.

Very nice.

Three things I would have done to make it look a little better. 1. Left the Muzzle Device Black 2. Used a standard Port Door and left it black 3. hit your black P-Mags with some of the tan paint to give em that Desert Camo look like the rest of the gun. Other than that it looks great.....

Wow, looks like a great build.  I have been thinking about something similar.

PermanentMarker,

Were those the hammer/trigger pins that came with your ALG ACT? Because, here are the chromoly hammer/trigger pins I received with my ALG ACT on the right. The set on the left were the ones that were part of the RRA LPK I used at first.

No, I used the mag tactical extended pins that only have two groves like a standard mil spec pin. I would have used the ALG pins but they are to short for my lower.
