| Has anyone used them before that can attest to quality? I am looking at their BHW barrels, are they in stock or have a long waiting time? |
| Great guys with lightning fast shipping, for me at least. I've got the 18" BHW rifle length gas barrel and it's a shooter for sure. When I ordered mine they had a deal for a free upper, which turned out to be an Aero Precision upper, great build quality and attention to detail. You won't be disappointed. |

Surplus Ammo and Arms is a good outfit. Their retail outlet is local to me here in Western Washington, across the freeway from the main gate at Ft Lewis. Numerous GIs swarm there on paydays to pick up more gun goodies. SA&A got their reputation caught in a wringer by selling parts at inflated prices during last year's gun panic. Personally, I chalk that up to lack of business experience. They thought they were doing their customers a favor by making hard-to-find parts available and passing on their higher costs. In retrospect, they should have refused to stock parts in those circumstances, wait out the panic and keep their rep intact. Nevertheless, their normal prices are quite attractive and they are scrupulous about clearly indicating what is in stock and what is not.
BTW, their house-brand receivers are made for them by Aero Precision, who is also local here. Western Washington is a hotbed of AR component manufacturers, partly because of the gun-friendly political environment. Washington's electorate is fairly evenly divided between urban socialists in the cities and libertarian types in the small towns and rural areas. To a large extent, they tolerate each other. Concealed carry has been lawful since the 1930's. A heavily armed populace mixed in with retail marijuana shops - Truth, Justice and the American Way. - CW |
