Hey All-

Looking for some feedback.. before i go any farther, ammo/mags worked in various other AR's during the same range session, barrel is brand new, everything was lubed as required to the best of anyone's knowledge at the range that day (for what it's worth).

This is a brand new build and the 10.3 pistol's first trip to the range. It has an AAC 51t muzzle break, DD 10.3 barrel and a spikes BCG.

First mag, load it, pull the charging handle, flip the safety off, pull the trigger, nothing.... Rack the slide repeat, bullet fires, but doesn't pull next round.... rinse and repeat a few times... Changed the standard buffer for my Spikes St-2...

Load mag, pull the charging handle, pull the trigger... BANG... next round... pull the trigger... CLICK...

Difference now, rack the slide, eject live round from chamber...

So in short, it's cycling the rounds into the chamber, but isn't engaged battery fully... charging handle is fully locked after each round....

I've disassembled and ensured gasblock was aligned appropriately... Anything else I should look into before I hit the range again on Friday? Could this be a BCG group? First shorty, so expected issues, but am looking for any insight.

Thanks all.

I would try a different bolt if that doesn't work I'd try a whole new BCG

Verify gas key bolts are  tight. Verify gas flow threw gas tube, gas rings good,  quality ammo.

Weak buffer spring?

I'm not sure how much this matters, but does it pass a go/no-go gauge?

Weak buffer spring?

I would try a different spring.  Do the cases have any markings on them?  Occasionally new mags have sharp feed lips that dig into the brass case and slow cycling down.  Another problem is sharp feed lips that drag on the bullet.  Both can contribute to a rifle not going into battery.

everything is brand new... I just re-algined gas block just in case, ensured it was well lubed and will attempt again on Friday... I will be brining another buffer spring and a full bcg.... hopefully can narrow it down.
