I haven't had any luck finding one, any suggestions?
Edit; This is a new build. I've been told by more than a few folks VERY fluent in AR that all the reasons that the forward assist was designed for are exactly the reasons that you should never use it. |

Numrich.
I'm not saying they're the cheapest, and their site is a bit difficult to navigate, but that's where I get mine, especially if you're looking for a tear drop. ETA: Or did you mean a plug to plug/eliminate the FA? If that's the case then EGW and Schuster to name two. If you're shooting suppressed, then the AR Vent is another replacement. |

Midway sells these and has them in stock for $8. Very neat and saves some weight. - CW

Maybe he has a standard upper already, and doesn't need/want a FA, but wants to plug the hole.
.22 uppers, 9mm uppers, and 5.56 BCGs without FA notches (JP and Boomfab) are three reasons I can think of that can't use, and don't need a forward assist so why install one? For anyone who has plugged the FA, does that Schuster plug come with the roll pin to secure it? None of the links say one way or the other. I have a standard upper I may use for a 9mm build and would be looking to buy that plug. |

Find a piece of .30-30 brass, cut it down to about 1/2", put a good bead of RTV around the rim, stick it in your FA hole. Its the perfect size.
I have not run a rifle with this but I seriously considered it a few times while fondling the stripper upper I had as a paperweight. |

Why a plug and not just a normal FA or an upper without one? |

If you already have a standard forged upper receiver, but don't want the FA device sticking out the side, the Delrin plug neatly fills the hole. Plus it saves a little weight. I have to admit, though, I like the idea of using a cutoff .30-30 or 7-30W case to fill the hole. Cheap and unique too. - CW Quoted:

Why a plug and not just a normal FA or an upper without one? It just seems like to me if you already have the receiver made for it you might as well get the extra feature. Whatever floats your boat. |

I use the FA on my dedicated .22 all the time. Of coarse I had to buy an adapter to use the FA but that's besides the point. If it were me I would buy an upper with no FA on it, they just look so slick. But if you already have an upper I suppose this is the best your gonna do. A plugged FA just never did it for me, as far as aesthetics are concerned. Same reason I haven't bought a PSA lower yet(dang cannons). But hey if it works for you than thats all that matters. |
