I'm ready to bhild my first AR. I have a list of parts I am going to purchase:
PSA stripped blem lower-$60 PSA MOE LPK-$60 PSA MOE stock kit-$70 PSA mid length CHF upper, w/BCG and CH-$420 Daniel Defense A1.5 Fixed Rear sight-$70 Any advice or anything you would change? I want to keep the price down and I want to learn irons before I get any optics. Thanks. Edit: After reading about PSA dissy uppers, I am wary of buying one. Read about badly fit FSBs and gas blocks, and you can't use MOE handguards on some of them becasue the FSBs are screwed to the barrel. Think I'll just get a middy. |

Just my 2cents, but if you spend a little more you will be happier later. The bravo company buffer tube, spring, and buffer are about 20 bucks more and will reduce any slop from buffer tube to stock, you will have to buy them separately but worth it in my opinion.
PSA bcg is good to go, but make sure it is the 158 carpenter steel bolt. Or just spend a little more and get the nickel boron and save time cleaning. BCM charging handle is a great choice Again my opinion, buy a name brand lower. It will help later if you want to sell it. spikes are 90 bucks at aim surplus. The dissy upper is a great choice and you will be very happy with it. Just don't get mad when they take 3 weeks to ship, because it will. |

Also, I was under the impression PSA was name brand for the lower, is this not the case? |

Based on all the research I did building mine and reading what most everyone has had to say (good, bad, indifferent) about PSA, I'd have to say it'll be a good shooting, reliable rifle you'll just have to wait for. I personally think it'll be nice as your first one. Only way to tell for sure is build it and shoot the crap out of it! Primary Arms has been good to me when you do decide to get optics if you are still on a tight budget. |
