I purchased a Bushmaster Varmint free float tube. Barrel nut install a piece of cake. Now timing the bipod attachment point, I am having problems. How do you tighten the ring and tube? I can get it hand tight but is easily loosened. Should I Loctite it? Green, blue ............

You need to get the manufacturer’s instructions.
Using a lot of Loctite may make it difficult to get off later.

I figured someone on this site has timed a three piece hand guard that is similar to the BM Varminter.

I strongly suggest that you contact Bushmaster for the installation instructions.
I install mine (YHM) using the mil-spec barrel assembly grease.
The lock ring should have holes, notches, or grooves for a wrench.
Lube the barrel nut threads.
Run the lock ring to the rear of the threads on the barrel nut then come back about 1 turn.
Run the lubed tube on as far as it will go and still line up.
Clamp the tube in a padded vise and using a wrench tighten the nut against the tube.
My tubes have anti-rotation screws so this works for me. YMMV
If you are going to be slinging up tight you may want to Loctite the tube instead of using grease.
Note that in the quantity that is needed even Blue will require a heat gun and 480 DEGF to get the tube off.

Used the Aeroshell 33ms grease on the barrel nut install. No notches, holes or grooves in my lock ring. Guess it will be a call to BM come Monday. Thanks
