My daughter has been asking to get more into shooting (even competitive later on) and while I have several colts around the house she has been set on having her own AR. So for the summer I decided to make it happen. I took her to a local fun store (since she likes to go anyway despite her mother wanting her to be involved in girly stuff ) and we picked out some lowers. I decided to go with Spikes Tactical lowers as they have a good name as far as lowers go and they always seemed to be priced decent. I know I could have bought a cheaper lower but I want her to have a quality rifle when finished. I even let her pick the roll marks, she went with the honey badger since she has seen the video and liked the look of it best. I have the DD lower parts kits and we will assemble them tomorrow (she is doing her own as she wants to know how it works/how to work on it). Uppers will most likely come in a couple months an will most likely be BCM. I haven't been in this sub forum before but just thought I would stop in to say hello . I am super stoked to be doing this with my little girl. She will be in high school this year coming up so the fact she still wants to spend time with dad is awesome to me. Sorry for the long post and I will post up some pics after we get em together!

I am in a similar situation with my 12yr old daughter.  Anytime I am looking at something on the computer at home she is interested in it and everytime a new package arrives she wants to know what it is and why I chose it.  When I have all of my parts together we will assemble them together and then someday when the rifle is hers she will remember the time we spent together doing it.

Us dads have to pick our spots and when we find something our little girls are interested in then we need to make time for them to share in those activities.
