I have been into guns for most all of my life, but have only owned pistols and a shotgun. I feel like it is time to add an AR to my collection as it has been a long time coming. Since I have been researching these for what feels like an eternity now, it seems this forum is the best place to get some good advice on my questions.
Right now I am just looking for some recommendations on parts really. I would like something light, accurate, but totally reliable more than anything. I literally have just the BCG picked out http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XAIMBCGNIBBDG and have been thinking about going w/ a local co for the upper/lower http://www.devildogarms.com/products/receivers/product/107-dda-15b-3d-billet-lower-upper-receiver-set.html. I really like the look of some fluted barrel's out there, but have no idea of what brand to go with. Always been a fan of the BRO ones, though I am sure there are other possibly better options on the market. Beyond that I am open to suggestions/recommendations. I have been also considered a pre-built AR, but cannot decide on one manuf since there are SO damn many. Still open to those though

If your wanting something light, accurate and reliable for a first rifle I would suggest a Bravo ELW fluted with KMR. I doubt you'll find a lighter upper that you won't need a stamp for. BCM costumer service is also great.

I will definitely check those out and ty for the suggestion.

On a side note I think I started my thread in the wrong section, but not sure how to move it.

I have heard only good things about black hole weaponry barrels. You should check them out.

Thanks I will check those out.

Are the only difference's between these two barrel & hand guard length? I went thru line-by-line and all the specs looked the same. I am a little surprised to see the 14.5" barrel is more expensive than the 16", but idk crap about the AR market so....

Just caught this blurb
"These 14.5" mid length gas barreled upper receiver groups have been specifically tuned to be a very soft and fast shooting set up. They are a joy to shoot, but please feed it good ammo. With good milspec pressured ammo we have been running H buffers. We do not recommend using lower powered ammo. If using less than milspec pressured ammo, it may be best to run a standard carbine buffer."
