Grabbed myself a Mega trigger from Rainier Arms (yes they are actually in stock). What are the thoughts on this trigger , any good? I had one it is a step up from the stock trigger. And It looked cool on that rifle. The only thing I could not get past was the trigger spring is actually only half of what a normal spring is. I got the ssa-e which I like better. Now I have ssa-e triggers on all my ARs. |
| I have one as well, i definitely like it alot. I have it setup a bit different so i am getting about a 3.5-4# pull with it and very minimal reset. I bought some of the JP yellow sprins and just cut it to match the one that comes with the mega trigger. I also have JP speed hammer installed as well with the red spring. It works great and i havent had any problems with it at all. |

Lets face it , you buy one for looks. i like being able to adjust over travel uptake but its only the trigger. A good trigger is all about seer face and hammer weight and springs. with a good polishing and the right springs any LPK can be tuned to a great trigger its just about knowing what you want and how to get it. Like i said, i have 3 in my guns and they look badass. these 2 have a 4 pound pull and break like glass but took some JP springs and lots of polishing everything to a mirror finish ...
Both are from 80% lowers i built . LR308 and 556 http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x324/justinoff/LR308B556-1.jpg |

Most all the performance triggers reduce hammer force by reducing spring pressure or in the case of the trigger being discussed eliminating half of the hammer spring. If you are reloading and using CCI #41 primers that hammer force may or may not be sufficient to set off the primer. I opted for the Hiperfire trigger system and do not regret it at all.

ummmmm No.
Vince the springs that come with the Mega trigger are the disconnect and the trigger bar . Standard hammer springs are used. In the off event you're shooting Wolf and getting FTF its best to leave the springs as are and swap firing pins or even sand down the firing pin collar (not the punch/tip) in order to maintain a light trigger and still ignition it allows the firing pin to protrude further. In the off hand my JP springs aren't enough (has only happened once in the past 4 years ) Bravo Company enhanced trigger spring kit is the next step . Also light and affordable... |
