| I herd it is best to site out to 50yds because the point of impact will be the same at 100yds or something like t |

50 is equal to 225 or 230. Close enough to 200 relatively speaking.
But you got to decide for yourself what the best is for you. Good Starter Video I change my zero all the time cus its fun and gives me something to do. |

The IBSZ (Improved Battlesight Zero).
http://www.fsguns.com/ibsz.html Sight it at 50 yards and trajectory will be within ~2 inches all the way out to 250 yards. Here's a multi-zero trajectory chart; pick which one you like best. Attached File |

It depends on the size of your target and expected distances, but 40-50 yards is a good general purpose zero. For torso sized targets, a 50 yard zero will give you a much longer point blank range than a 100 yard zero, allowing you to just hold dead center more often, unless you're trying to punch X rings.
You can play around with this and decide what is best for you. JBM ballistics calculator |

The 5.56mm bullet will hit dead center at 50 yards, 1.4" high at 100 yards, 1.5" low at 200 yards and 7.2" low at 250 yards. If you aim center of mass on the bad guy, your rounds will hit the torso from CQB distances all the way out to 250 yards

I picked a 25m zero for my 16" barreled rifles shooting M193. I've only had a few opportunities to reach out to 300m, but when I did, I hit what I was aiming at. YMMV. This is what I am doing. Should be within 5" or so out to 300m and then just aim higher for extended. I found it out on Haleys video( yeah yeah) that has been taken down, and I think it will work best for me. |

There are Army M4 targets out there somewhere that have you zero at 25m. Once you are zeroed, you are spot on at 300m. |

25m to be military acceptable.
25 yards to impress your friends when you can hit 8" steel at 300 yards without needing to change anything on your rifle 50 yards if you're going to do hunting 100 yards if you're shooting it at the range and want to show your group at 100 yards here. other than that it's up to you. |

Yep! I was going to say just about that myself. |
