I have a free float tube which I purchased from Midway USA, it was cheap and fit the bill for this build.

I just painted it od green and didn't want to use a strap wrench when tightening it onto the barrel nut. I was wondering if I could just put the tube on hand tight using some purple loctite 222 on the threads to keep it in place. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm not familiar with this tube. Does it use a jam nut like the YHM tubes?

if you painted it right, a strap wrench shouldnt be a problem.

luckily, you probably have more paint in case it was a problem

No jamb nut, it just screws onto the included barrel nut. That is why I figured a little purple loctite to hold it into place couldn't hurt.
