I have tried searching the forum for this information, but have had no luck, so...

I'm getting ready to replace my M-4 hand guards with a free-float tube, so I have to remove the front sight assy.  It's been quite a while since I did this last, but I seem to remember that the front sight base pins are tapered and should be driven out in only one direction.  But!!!  Which direction?  Could I get a little help here?

Thanks in advance,
Old SF

left to right.

ETA:  the search sucks unless you're a Team Member.  Next time use Google and start a search with "site:ar15.com"  Example "site:ar15.com taper pin removal"

Found the answer - at MidwayUSA site.  I was adding a couple items to my wish list there when I noticed the 'Video Library' link.  There, I sifted around a bit & got the selection of AR videos.  A bit more sifting around and there was a short vid on installing a free-float tube.  It was all downhill from there!

Oh, and it's Left-Out / Right-In for the pins when holding the rifle in the normal upright position!

Best,
