HI first post! long time lurker new AR owner.. I decided to piece my first build together from lower/upper and misc parts.. I plan to get a LPK in the near future:
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/22/wuvm.jpg New Frontier LW15 polymer lower Stag Arms 3H complete upper Midwest Industries Rear BUIS Vortex Strikefire with butler creek Blizzard lens covers UTG tril rail F-post front sight rail Ultrafire 900 lumen strobe Magpul MOE grip Magpul ACS stock with Brownells mil-spec buffer tube Magpul MOE handgaurd with bottom rail attachment for bipod Pmag 30 x4 BCM gunfighter mod4 zero using 50m target and 1/3 cowitnessed.. plinking with red dot at 200-300m hitting 200m target 25-30 and 300m 18-30 ish. pretyt impressed by this NF lower; i do plan to gut it out soon with at least metal takedown pins and a new trigger housing.. but the polymer lower itself is jonny on the spot. |
| trigger is crisp man about 4lb.. no problems as of this point.. i dont know why ppl hate on ar polymer lowers tho- they did the same thing for glocks in the 80s-and 90s.. i researched and watched all the vids and torture tests on them only thin gi did not like about the polymer lower was that there was not a trigger guard upgrade.. i wanted to get the LPK from CMMG to at least give me options for replacement and the fact i dont like nor approve of polymer takedown pins.. but so far they have held up.. i prefer metal tbh but i chose the polymer lower because i had a buddy on tour in iraq and afph 3 times that said most of their metal lowers crinched and couldnt accept mags of any type and their wives were sending them these polymer lowers as replacements.. IMO a polymer lower is no better than an alum one..like the say a lower is a lower..that being said and truth be told.. i believe an upgrade in parts would make it unbeatable in the market. so far its held up to me plinking left and right.. but in all honesty i prefer metal on my trigger. its really not a bad lower for 100 bucks and so far its stood the test of time and even tanks running over it lol too bad it comes with a commerical tube and you have to replace it to get any stock besides the initial one |
| truth be told once again i can go to my FFL tomorrow and straight out buy a lower stripped or full.. i chose the polymer because i trust my life with my glock19 and i see no different in an AR15 because its not an m4 on burst or full auto.. so there is no need whatsoever to try and chastize; i can get another if i want to np.. but i wont for now..money is not an option even tho i prefer to spend my money in other places...... |
| I received an M16 A1 un-issued upper for free and decided to build a AR for the wife. I reseached poly lowers and I do carry Glocks but, I went with a Del-ton lower. Everything fit well and I can tune up the trigger but for now she has to convince me she can handle what it has. I would really like to see more research on poly lowers being in 20 degree below zero and in 100 degree above weather conditions prior to trying one out. Has anyone tried the DPMS 22 caliber uppers? |
