And I thought picking the other pieces of my build was tough. Comps have my head spinning.
I'm wondering what exists that is between a SJC Titan and a standard flash hider. I'm not necessarily worried about flash suppression, more interested in compensation and not kicking the crap out of anybody shooting next to me at the range. I'll take a little more recoil so that I don't get the stink eye from range neighbors. While I'd like to think that I'll shoot a lot of 3 Gun starting this year, I will in all likelihood spend more time at the range, thus the concern for the shooters to my left and right. Compounding the problem is a general lack of definitive information. Everyone's comp is the best. Other than what Andrew Tuohy has done over at Vuurwapen there is a dearth of quantitative information. From Andrew's blog I've kinda narrowed it down to a Rainier Arm's XTC. Seems to be on the low end of the noise scale for comps which hopefully translates to less impact to others. Anyone have any experience with this comp? Know of any others that fit the bill that don't cost north of a $100? Thx -K2 |

You want a really good comp? Look at the Levang Linear. It looks pretty blah but works well, even as a flash suppressor. Less interested in looks than performance. Some nice reviews at Brownell's web site. I'll keep investigating. Thanks for the tip. -K2 |
| Here's what you want Kies Blast Master Linear Comp . This comp is along the same lines as the Levang, but works much better. I actually changed out two Levangs and switched over to the Kies after trying one on a friends evil 9.5" sbr at the range. I've never seen a comp that does as good a job at directing everything downrange as the Kies. |
